Courses in this interdisciplinary program, dubbed "the fusion of communications and business," are drawn from the following general areas:

  • Public relations theory
  • Public opinion research
  • Communications law
  • Public relations management
  • Communications theory
  • Accounting
  • Finance
  • Organizational behavior
  • Strategic planning
  • Problem-solving
  • Measurement and evaluation in communication
  • Marketing/marketing communications

Electives in specialized topics (for example, emerging technologies and social media, crisis communications, conflict resolution, negotiation, leadership, advertising, branding and facilitation) are developed annually based on student interest.
